The Disappearance Of The Thirty-Three Young Women

Ted Bundy was an American serial killer who was obsessed with killing women. He was a wanted man in several states of America until he was captured in 1977 by the FBI. Ted was a name that came from the letters TED which stands for Ted Bernard Barr, the name of the serial killer who was on the run. Generally described as gentle and nice, he eluded detection for many years. However, after a string of murders which included the murder of six women in Texas, he finally was caught for the third time for the fourth time in 1978. Ted, however, managed to escape from the maximum security facility in prison, and is now free.

Ted began his crime spree in Washington, D.C., targeting women who were at a party when he entered a laundry room and opened fire, killing them. He was eventually caught after jumping from a plane and was identified as one of the most dangerous serial killers in the country. The victims of Ted’s spree had all been pregnant at the time of their death; he even mutilated some of them to make it look like suicide. Ted was eventually hanged in a D.C. jail on murder charges; however, authorities were not successful in finding any more bodies.

Ted’s final meal before being executed was a last meal which consisted of only roses and a cake. A clerk at the Florida State Department of Corrections confirmed that this was the last meal of Ted. No other details have been disclosed as the exact contents of the last meal have never been disclosed. Ted’s last words were: “Thank you.”

Ted’s final meal of choice prior to execution was a steak and a cake. Although the state of Utah tried to serve him a lesser food on the final date, Ted preferred a steak dinner. There is no record of his expression as he bit into the steak; his lips were white. After his execution, Ted’s coffin was open and his eyes were not closed; this meant that he did not see the prison guards execute him. He might have seen the blood spattered across the floor from where he was hung. Ted was buried in a grave in Fillmore, Utah.

Police detective Glen Barlow later theorized that Ted’s hanging may have been a suicide, but could also be related to the murders of the neighbors the night before. The deaths of the three were announced on the same day that Ted was pronounced “death row”. Police detectives were unable to determine if the announcement was intended to discourage further attacks by the killers or if they simply made up the information to confuse the public.

All of these events had an effect on Ted Bundy’s mind; he became obsessed with the thought that perhaps his two neighbors were victims of serial killers. Ted claimed that he had seen the names of the victims on the white van that the bodies were thrown in. The discovery of two matching white vans near the crime scene pointed to a possible serial killer and Ted decided that he would like to catch the man for killing the women and children.

He visited the scene the next day and noticed strands of hair on the ground. He also saw a footprint that looked like that of the suspect. He confronted the man who matched the footprints and asked him if he knew the victims. The man told him that he did know the victims and the investigation was still on, so Ted went on to ask about the double murder. The man said that he did not know the victims and that he only knew the woman; Ted wanted to know more about the woman and why she had never come forward and been included in the media.

Ted’s pursuit of the serial killers prompted police to form a team to look into the possibility of serial killing in Florida. The team discovered two more vans that belonged to the suspects in the first case and linked them to the crimes. None of the suspects were named but the investigation continued until October 25th when the bodies of the thirty-three young women were found in shallow graves. Ted was fascinated with the case and believed that he had solved the crime. The press coverage attracted the interest of national and international media and reports were printed all over the United States.
